It is nearly impossible to give a complete assessment of the city of Havana, with its complex history, based on one eight-hour tour.  What I can do, is share that tour with, through the eyes of my camera lens and the interpretation of our tour guide. 

Our first glimpse of the formerly forbidden island of Cuba brought a range of feelings, not knowing quite what to expect. Mostly we were excited to learn more about its history and culture as we boarded the tender that would take us to our first stop, the city of Cienfuegos.

Why Cuba, you may ask. Why not, I answer! Honestly, and many people on this cruise have said the same thing - in today’s climate, we just don’t know how much longer we will be allowed to visit this country.  As you may know, I’m always up for an adventure.

This is a very special week. ABC 7 News This Morning celebrates its 30th anniversary on April 3rd - that is also my personal 30th anniversary at ABC 7, as I was hired as a Traffic Anchor specifically for that show, a first for television news!

Our final day exploring Israel took us back in time 2,200 years to the era of the Maccabees. We went on an archeological dig at the Sidonian Caves in Tel Maresha.
