On The Road To The Bayou

I was somewhat hesitant, but my daughter didn't blink an eye! So off we went, on a kayak tour down the bayou!  We took the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway - the world's longest bridge over a body of water (almost 24 miles) to Fontainebleau State Park, a 2,800 acre park along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain.

There were 10 in our group, some novice, some experienced, all hoping to see alligators! We saw a variety of plant life through the swamps and marsh, from tall cypress trees to lacy Spanish moss.

And about those wildlife sightings?  Well, see for yourself!

A special thanks to our tour guide Matt and all the folks at Canoe & Trail Adventures for making this experience so memorable!
