On The Road Across The Pond
/Hello London! We made it across the pond in less than 8 hours - with less than 4 hours of sleep! Didn't matter - local time 8:45 am, we pushed through, checked into our hotel and connected with a friend, who most graciously took us on a quick walking tour in spite of our jet-lag. We started by taking the "tube" to what has to be one of the most touristy streets in the area - but hey, we're tourists, right?!
In case you didn't recognize that iconic street, think Beatles, think Abbey Road! We stopped to pose for a quick pic in front of Abbey Road Studios (which we will see in more detail next week) and another quick pic in front of one of Sir Paul's homes!
We walked past some beautiful architecture in this affluent part of town, as we made our way to lunch. Sticking with the tourist theme, Sara and I both enjoyed a tasty plate of fish n' chips!
After a great meal, the jet-lag really started to kick it. Time to head back to the hotel to rest. A most sincere thank you to our special friend and incredible host Fred W. for starting our UK trip on the right foot - or is that the left foot - everything here is backwards!
Tomorrow - a guided tour through downtown London! Cheerio!!
