As we begin our second week of Shelter in Place there are some sobering numbers coming out of Governor Pritzker’s afternoon press briefing - 1,105 new cases of Coronavirus Disease have been reported in Illinois in the past 24 hours. Anyone who doesn’t understand that staying home saves lives is like an ostrich with their head in the sand.

Wednesday March 18 was the last day I spent at the station before moving my ABC 7 Traffic reporting setup to my home, working remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the last things I said to a co-worker before heading out the door - our lives are now forever changed.

I firmly believe things happen for a reason. We weren’t supposed to spend New Year’s Eve in Morocco, but it was the only way we could get a flight home without a 9 hour layover. Making  the most of our extra day in Marrakech,

Our final day touring Morocco as a group took us literally off the road! We had a caravan of 4x4s, driving through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

We ventured outside the city of Marrakech today into the Ourika Valley of the Atlas Mountains to learn more about the Berbers - the indigenous people of North Africa.
